It was our first non-obligation event without the kids in such a long time. One of our boys has a disability and it is difficult to get help. It was so wonderful getting lost in the music. Of course, as a mom, I felt guilty being out without the boys (7 & 10), but at the end of the night you threw your guitar pick and it fell right next to my foot. My husband picked it up and pocketed it as hurds of drunk people next to us stormed the area (they didn't see he had picked it up). As we were leaving we looked back to see them taking the tables and chairs apart looking for it. I couldn't help but think it was a sign that our going out was something we probably should do more often. Thanks for such a great performance and for giving these late thirty-somethings a wonderful souvenier. Best to you all. I met you a few years ago when I was with K.C. Morris, the drummer. It was the Kick-off concert for Gregg on the tour,in Poughkipsie,N.Y. I was at B.B. King's last night 10/29 for the first show. Didn't know if I could come back and say hello, so I left. Mark, I usually don't blow smoke about myself, but I've been playing Blues Harp and Chromatic harmonica for years. I do jingle and recording sessions and even did "The Will Roger's Follies" on Broadway for 2 years. I also play guitar, sing and do alot of Allman Bros. material on my solo and group gigs. I know if I got an opportunity to play harp for Gregg, i could light things up the way you do on guitar. I think my harp playing could really complement the sound of the band. Is there any way of getting an audition CD or live audition with Gregg to show him what I could do? We got as close as we could around the outside of the den. By the time 8:00 came, I was getting tired from standing but then Gregg Allman and Friends started playing. I'm so grateful that Greg and his band came to Connecticut so I could experience the best concert I've ever seen. By the time it was over, I forgot I was standing all that time. To hear Gregg for the first time live after being a fan for 30 years was an experience better than I ever imagined. My friend and I were stunned by the guitar work of Mark McGee, we would look at each other and say Wow!. Later on in the evening we were fortunate enough to meet Mark in the casino area, what a great guy. We felt like kids meeting one of our favorite rock stars. It might have looked a bit unusual since we ran & caught up with Mark, my friend and I, in our mid 40's. Another surprise was Neil Larsen on keyboard, I have Neil's "High Gear" album from 1979, and have enjoyed his music for years. Great vocals by Floyd! I love the blues.
